Job description

SEN School located in the borough Greenwich, is recruiting for a SEN TA to join their team immediately.

The SEN School is for students aged 11 - 19 and accommodates between 45-53 students. Essentially this SEN School has strong links with the community and outside sources. Pupils and staff alike enjoy being part of the local community and students are supported in work opportunities with many local community groups & businesses.

Students Needs:

  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Downs Syndrome
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  • Medical needs
  • PMLD
  • Physical difficulties
  • Speech & language/ communication difficulties
  • ADHD

The Position - SEN TA:

  • Offering extra support where necessary
  • Building a strong rapport with your pupils
  • Leading pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups with assisted reading
  • Help in supporting in functional skills
  • Creating a positive & encouraging social interaction with peers
  • Ensuring the safeguarding of pupils
  • Implementing a variety of strategies to cater for different learning abilities
  • Personal Care

Successful Applicant

  • Either an SEN TA or LSA or HLTA or Support Worker (with children)
  • Experience working with children and young people with ASD/ complex needs/ PMLD/ SALT/ADHD
  • Open to doing personal care as an SEN TA
  • Available immediately
  • Experience working with pupils on a 1:1 basis/ small groups as an SEN TA
  • In date DBS with the update service
