Job description

Remedy Education specialise in long term roles for Teaching Assistants, Nursery Nurses, Early Years Teaching Assistants, Teachers and SEN staff.

** SEN Teaching Assistant

** Starting January 2018

** £75 - £85 per day

We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work for one of our fantastic Secondary Schools in Greenwich. As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be joining our strong and supported by a strong supportive school and the candidate will be contributing to creating the conditions for all our students to experience success. You will be required to work closely supporting KS3 & KS4 students by understanding of each individual's needs. Your timetable will be set by the SENCO and class teacher who you will be reporting to and you will be given past reports and detailed assessments to familiarise yourself with the child's needs and current targets.

Essential basic criteria:

  • Excellent and fluent spoken and written English
  • Experience (1 year ) and excellent knowledge of working with a UK Secondary School
  • Calm and flexible approach to teaching
  • Very familiar with the Secondary National Curriculum
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • The ability to deal with challenging behaviour

Main Duties:

  • Supporting the teacher with delivering the National Curriculum
  • Carrying out observations, daily reports and activities
  • Supporting a pupil on a one to one basis
  • Setting up classes and differentiating activities in order to facilitate learning
  • Creating a stimulating environment
