The School:

My Client are a Secondary School in Finchley who aim to provide a secure environment that helps every student achieve their best. The school has a happy, purposeful working atmosphere. The staff work together as a team and do their best to make each student's educational experience both challenging and enjoyable. The school aim for children to look back on their school days with affection and a sense of pride, both in their own achievements and those of the school.

The ideal candidate will have experience of supporting students with special educational needs, particularly with PMLD. We welcome candidates with care worker background as well as recent graduates who are looking to build their experience working with SEN pupils. You will be required to support with personal care (feeding and toileting). You will also assess individual learning needs and work on a group basis.

The Role:

-You will be working as a 1:1 SEN teaching assistant supporting an immobile student.

-This SEN Teaching Assistant position will be an ongoing with potential to go permanent.

-The role will be full time - Monday to Friday.

The Successful Candidate:

-You will have previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant supporting a student with SEN on a 1:1 basis

-Must be educated to a degree level preferably within education

-A proven track record of being able to support students with PMLD

-C grade or above in GCSE Maths is essential

-A positive can-do attitude and the ability to work well in a team as well as individually

-Be available immediately

Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with SEN pupils is essential. All applicants will need to hold a current enhanced DBS and be fully compliant to work in the UK.
