Job description

Our PMLD/ASD school based in Southwark are looking for a Primary Special Educational Needs Teacher for children aged between 4 and 11 years of age, with children on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD), Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

The classroom sizes are small with around 10 pupils, 3 support staff and a Teacher. If you haven't previously taught in an SEN school but are a mainstream teacher considering a career change, this school can offer the guidance and support that is needed throughout the transition. Applications from NQTs are also welcome.

If you have the following then this school could be perfect for you: -

  • Experience teaching children with ASD, PMLD and SLD.
  • An understanding of Makaton and or PECs.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Be able to prepare and teach effective lessons, taking into account the individual needs of the students.

The salary is equal to the main pay scale plus SEN points and will be to start in September.
