Job description

Remedy Education are currently looking for an Experienced SEN Maths Teacher to work within an SEN School based in South West London. This position will be required for 5 days per week on a Monday to Friday which will be on a long term basis. Ideally someone who has experience working with children with complex needs typically related to Asperger's Syndrome, Autism and associated conditions.

The Role:

  • To provide high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and experiences through the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum to enable our pupils to achieve their full potential in all areas of learning. Experience of Key Stage 2/3 delivery would be beneficial.
  • To facilitate this, you'll plan and deliver high quality learning opportunities according to DFE guidance and the school's policies and practice and be responsible for the day-to-day management of a tutor group as well as being part of a team to support the general running of the school.
  • You will supervise and provide support and guidance to our Teaching Assistants and Higher-Level Teaching Assistants and play a key role in their Professional Development Reviews.
  • Naturally, you will take responsibility for implementing school policies and practices, including those relating to safeguarding and equality of opportunity. Additionally, you will also be expected to build positive relationships with all pupils, carefully monitoring the health, well-being, informing the Clinical team, Pastoral and SENCo support teams and any other relevant professionals of any concerns.

Applicant requirements:

Qualifications and experience include -

  • Qualified Teacher status
  • Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum, new OFSTED framework and how to adapt this for pupils with SEN.
  • Experience of working with young people with ASD.
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Ability to create and maintain nurturing relationships with young people.
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, to include students with anxiety.
  • Knowledge of strategies and visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners is important.
  • A flexible approach and a high level of creativity

Pay : £160 - £200 per day.

Hours : 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
