SEN Learning Mentor - North London - ASAP Start

* Long term to permanent
* Full time
* £70-85 a day
* Roles across 3 boroughs - Islington, Enfield and Camden
* ASAP Start

I am currently working with a number of progressive mainstream primary, secondary, SEN schools and PRU'S in North London that are looking for a Learning Mentor to join their specialist teams, teaching and supporting learners with emotional and behavioural difficulties who struggle with all areas of learning and social integration.

The School:

My clients are looking to hire a SEMH Teaching Assistant to start a new role as soon as possible. The schools are warm, welcoming and genuinely caring. The schools believe that to truly flourish children must feel valued, the focus on what each child can achieve and celebrate their successes.

Candidate Specification:

To be a Learning Mentor in these schools it is important that you are calm and collective in challenging situation. This provision is a new venture for the school and you must be able to work well in a team and respect and value the different experiences, ideas and backgrounds others can bring to work and to the teams. You must have full working knowledge and experience of implementing learning and therapeutic approaches along with a good understanding of child development and learning processes.

For this Learning Mentor role must be confident and experienced as you will be expected to lead and support other staff, the school are looking for 2 learning mentors and ideally would like them to have either a psychology degree or to have experience with speech and language therapy.

  • Speech and Language Experience (desirable)
  • Significant relevant experience as a Learning Mentor (essential)
  • Previous experience in a school, working with young people with SEMH and learning difficulties (desirable)
