Job description

Are you looking to make a difference to the lives of children and young people with SEMH needs in Bromley? Then you could be exactly the person we are looking for.

We are looking for creative and experienced teaching assistants to work with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and/or autism.

We are currently working with a school in Bromley which is seeking support staff to work on a 1:1 basis with a Key Stage 2 student with behavioural difficulties and issues with engaging in the curriculum.

The role will involve some responsibility for writing students Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and evidencing progress towards their targets. Taking students to visit new alternative provision and delivering work packs will also be involved from time to time.

Ideally, you will have:

  • experience of working with students with SEMH and/or autism in mainstream settings
  • ability to communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and families
  • experience of working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • commitment to prioritising the needs of the pupils in all that you do
