SEMH/EBD Teaching Assistant -Secondary - Southwark - South East London

An exiting in opportunity has become available within a small tight knit specialist class for learners with social, emotional and behavioral issues, the majority of the pupils have mental heath issues and a number of the learners have Autism. My client school would ideally like to meet with experienced, confident specialist female teaching assistant for this role.

This role would suit a skilled and experienced SEMBH/EBD female teaching assistant. You must have experience supporting learning in core subjects to GSCE level. This SEMH/EBD Teaching Assistant role involves you assisting with general support throughout the classroom and from time to time offering one to one support to learners who need additional support.

Recognising and appreciating different learning needs is an essential skill of a SEMH/EBD Teaching Assistant and you will be refining this awareness on a daily basis as you guide and support of different pupils and teachers across the school. This SEMH/EBD Teaching Assistant position will see you helping to add another element to class learning within KS3 exclusively and you will be always helping learners minimise and regulate behaviours that can be disruptive and destructive in the classroom.
