Job description

Science teachers needed for an out-of-school placement teaching Key stages 1-4 to local students who have either been excluded, home educated, young offenders, teen parents, those with medical needs, and those with challenging behaviour as well as a range of SEND students. Teaching in alternative provisions, outreach locations and the learner's own home.

Successful candidates should be confident and inspiring and willing to help students achieve their maximum potential.

You should ideally have:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • An enhanced DBS (ideally on the update service)
  • At least 2 years teaching or tuition experience in the UK
  • A UK recognised teaching qualification

Working on a case-by-case basis, teachers should be able to work autonomously and be comfortable teaching in alternative education provisions. You may be allocated to teach in a student's home or meet students at a nearby location. You should also be confident to teach your subject across the curriculum and able to plan lessons to meet the IEP.
