This school is based in Lambeth, South they are easily accessible via public transport and are currently looking for a Science Teacher to join the team! The school is a mainstream school with a SEN department, the school caters for Key stage 3 and 4 pupils and provides a safe and encouraging learning environment.

The school deliver a broad yet balanced curriculum which enables learners to make progress and develop their academic and social skills, the setting also offers therapeutic support for its students and provides 1:1 support and mentoring. All teachers contribute to establishing a positive environment for learning, the school strongly believe that partnerships with parents and carers to achieve the best results.

The position will be teaching general science to key stage 3 students with complex needs it will be focusing on teaching foundation level science and addressing the academic progress and personal development of pupils. As a teacher you will be responsible for planning and delivering meaningful and appropriate lessons, abiding by the adapted curriculum and giving pupils the chance to achieve to the best of their ability.

This position will be starting in January 2019 it will be full time, long term with the potential to go permanent the day will run from 8:30am to 4pm in term time only. The daily pay rate will be extremely competitive dependent on your previous experience and current pay scale.

To apply for the role you need to be/have:

  • UK QTS - Secondary trained
  • good subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Science
  • able to creatively plan and prepare engaging lessons.
  • hardworking and ambitious.
  • strong behaviour management
  • experience working in Pupil Referral Units (desired not essential)
