Job description

I am currently seeking an experienced Science Teacher for secondary co-educational special school for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The school is situated in South West London and the role is to start in May. This is a long term to permanent post so commitment is key

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status, QTS, desirable
  • Science Teacher
  • SEMH/SEBD experience
  • Team-teach trained
  • A genuine passion for education.
  • A non-judgmental and empathic approach
  • Current DBS
  • Be available to interview immediately

Teacher Specification:

The successful Science Teacher will have experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and available to start immediately. You will have the desire to create a culture of learning, where children are happy, enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious. Ensuring that the classroom is a positive and stimulating learning environment.

About the Teaching Role: In this Science Teacher position, you will be working with challenging behaviour and therefore be strong and adaptable with your teaching approach. Delivering the Key stage 3 and 4 Curriculum to classes of about 8 students. Reconnecting them with education so they can make progress in becoming successful adults.

The School: The school itself is based in a very accessible area of South West London with excellent travel links. They aims to provide a therapeutic environment to support young people's academic journey and psychological wellbeing. They are a well facilitated school with excellent support from SLT and strong classroom support assistants.
