Job description
We are seeking a committed individual to join a lovely Primary school toassist in the kitchen and school hall as required in the preparation of food and food service, washing up, general cleaning and other tasks associated with catering. A moderate amount of lifting is necessary in the execution of the post holder's duties such as the movement of dining furniture, saucepans and provisions.
This post has a starting hourly rate of £8.00 per hour

Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 (Desirable)
Experience of working within a similar role is preferable but full training is provided.
You must be medically fit and well, with the stamina & ability to cope in a hot and busy kitchen.
About the role
- Maintain highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen area and ensure that the cleaning schedule is completed daily. Keep the kitchen clean and tidy (cupboards kept clean, fridge/freezer defrosted regularly; oven cleaned regularly all daily washing up to be completed.)
- Assist with food preparation
- To follow catering instructions from the chef and staff with regard to children's dietary requirements.
- To observe good hygiene practices at all times.
- To be aware of any specific allergies or intolerances for certain children
- To observe correct use and care of kitchen equipment.
- To adhere to menu plans and portion size.
- To be aware of stock control, use by dates and re-ordering systems.
- The ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness without constant supervision.
- To be able to work as part of a team.
- To be able to adapt to new circumstances and new methods.
- Knowledge of nursery routines and the ability to work to strict time schedules without constant supervision.
- Co-operate with the chef and nursery staff throughout the building.
- To attend all training pertinent to the role
- Maintain cross-infection precautions
- To report any accident which may occur
- To report any defective machinery
- To be committed to the safeguarding of all children
