Rough Sleepers Advisor

Remedy Recruitment are currently working with a Local Authority in West London and are currently seeking an experienced Rough Sleepers Advisor.

** Salary- 16 PH **

** Start- ASAP**

DUTIES

    • To work closely with the Borough's Street Outreach Response Team and Community Safety to provide a rapid response to reports of rough sleeping and/or street-based activity in the Borough during the day when Outreach are not on shift; (Lone working)

    • To work closely with H&F rough sleepers, people engaged in street-based activity in the Borough to create and implement bespoke action plans to resolve their situation;

    • To develop close links with Housing Management Teams, Registered Providers, and ASB Teams to identify single people with support needs living in social housing tenancies who are at risk of eviction, and take appropriate action to prevent them from rough sleeping;

    • To arrange moves for rough sleepers into, within and out of the single homeless hostel pathway and determine priority for moves in accordance with a jointly agreed prioritisation framework;

    • Where other options cannot be identified for rough sleepers, to assess them for assistance under Part VII of Housing Act 1996 (homelessness);

    • To assess and match rough sleepers to the most suitable move-on accommodation and ensure that all move-on opportunities are maximised;

    • To match rough sleepers and their assessed support needs to available units of floating support;

    • To acquire specialist knowledge about rough sleeping and street-based activity and to form policy and practice in those areas including writing procedures and reports;

    • To ensure that the information available to rough sleepers about relevant services is maintained and updated regularly;

    • 10 Using a variety of databases and information sources ensure that qualitative and quantitative information on rough sleeping issues is collected, analysed, reported on, and disseminated as appropriate;

    • Attend meetings related to rough sleeping and street based activity and follow up the actions from those meetings

    • Provide training and build awareness for a range of agencies, departments and partners about rough sleeping and street-based activity;

    • To assist in the development and implementation of a Rough Sleeping Strategy;

    • To implement the recommendations made by the Borough's Rough Sleeping Commission;

    • To assist in the application for funding opportunities related rough sleeping and/or street based activity

    • To participate in the Borough's annual Street Count
