Qualified Social Worker x 2 – Child Protection Team, Cornwall, £24ph

If you would like to work in one of the most varied and beautiful coastlines in the UK, contact us today! We need 2 Qualified Social Worker's for the Child Protection Team based in Cornwall. These are locum positions to start immediately for at least 6 months. 

Main responsibilities include:
• To contribute to the adequate protection of children from harm by assisting in the assessment of risk, and the delivery of support services
• To be Primary Worker with case responsibility for Children in Need, Children 
• Looked After by the Local authority, and when appropriate, Children in need of Protection
• To produce Assessments of Children in Need and their Families according to DoH Guidelines and timescales
• To provide reports for departmental meetings, LAC Reviews, CP Case Conferences, Legal Meetings, Permanence Planning Meetings and Court Hearings and attend these as required
• To work directly with children and their families, foster carers and permanent alternative carers to ensure the best interests of children are met.

Essential requirements:
• A social work qualification (degree in social work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognised social work qualification
• 2 years' experience minimum in front line child protection work
• Have access to a vehicle in order to travel around the county
• Experience of managing child protection cases and working with families to keep children safe and pre-birth assessments where there are historical concerns for parenting
