Our client, a Local Authority in West London , is looking for a Qualified Social Worker for their Unaccompanied Minors service.

The four key challenges this Council face are;

• A lack of suitable foster carers with the background and knowledge to support UASC
• Not enough specialist training available for Social Workers and key stakeholders to deal with UASC needs including trafficking, child exploitation, immigration status and cultural integration
• Insufficient resources and structure to ensure UASC are supported after leaving care
• A lack of trauma counselling

These issues restrict their ability to provide positive outcomes for UASC which can result in an inability to integrate, involvement in criminality, substance abuse and hidden mental health issues.
