Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking a Qualified Social Worker to work within a Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children Team for a Local Authority in South London.

Job Purpose

• The UASC teams support and care for 280 children and young people
• The social worker will be responsible for a caseload of 16 children and young people in our care living in the Borough, other London Boroughs and occasionally further afield
• Our children are seeking asylum. The majority are teenagers when they first become looked after and mostly male
• Our duty to them is the same as for any child or young person in care, but with the added dimension of a different set of experiences and journey
• There are 4 teams, one of which is responsible for a smaller number of children but carries out age assessments when age is disputed
• Each team is in turn responsible for the duty service, which includes our own "front door" service, where we respond to children who have presented at the home office in the Borough

You will need to be:

HCPC registered
