This is an interesting opportunity for a senior social worker to join a Family Finding Team. This post will allow for an experienced colleague to draw on existing knowledge and develop further learning opportunities in a supportive work environment.

The successful candidate will join a supportive and experienced team and be part of a Care Planning Service that is working to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and make a real difference to their lives while ensuring that they remain within committed and supportive safe families. We are looking for social workers who, like us, are passionate about what they do and making a difference to children's lives in achieving permanency.

Work in this team is varied, with family finders working alongside other colleagues to plan for children's permanency and secure this either via matches presented to a Permanency Panel or via LAC reviews. At times, social workers are required to complete courts statements, give opinions around family finding options and timescales and/or whether siblings should remain together or apart. Following joint visits to prospective permanent families, you would be involved in assessing the quality of a match between a child and the identified family, while considering comprehensive support packages to ensure that these placements flourish.
