Qualified Social Worker, Children with Disabilities, Havering

Remedy Recruitment Group is working in partnership with London Borough of Havering to recruit an experienced Qualified Social Worker for the Children & Young People's service.

Responsibilities:

  • Work flexibly and collaboratively across structural boundaries in support of key outcomes.
  • To contribute to development of organisational capability by taking ownership of your own training and development, including identifying and taking part in training and development activity and responding to feedback on performance.
  • Thinking creatively, challenging the norms, and constructively challenging those around them (including those more senior) to ensure continuous improvement and commercial astuteness, and inspire the same in colleagues.
  • Take responsibility for identifying areas of risk including Health and Safety and Business Continuity.
  • Work as part of project or process teams as required under the new operating model, ensuring excellent cross functional output.
  • To assess the needs and risks of the young person and identify actions appropriate to meet needs and address risk, whilst also recognising the needs of carers who may

Essential requirements:

  • DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent.
  • Experience of court work in relation to child care matters and an understanding of the legal process.
  • Knowledge of Leaving and Aftercare legislation and procedures.
  • Experience in undertaking assessments and the ability to demonstrate how these are used in forming appropriate care plans for children with disabilities.
  • Recent experience of communicating with young people with disabilities and/or additional needs and working in partnership with parents and/or carers.
