Qualified Social Worker - Court Team - Based in South West London

Our Client based in West London requires an experienced social worker within a Court Team.

The successful Senior Social Worker should be comfortable working within a challenging and fast paced environment.

The role as a social worker-

  • Knowledge of child development, the categories of services and resources available to children and families, and the cost implications of meeting those assessed needs. Demonstrates an understanding of best value and quality assurance issues.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with all parties including children with their carers and other professionals across the borough.
  • Ability and skills to manage complex casework and to deliver a high quality

  • service to children and families, working in partnership with parents, carers and colleagues both within the Council and other statutory and voluntary organisations.
  • Ability and skills to supervise staff and/or students and Support Workers/ Leaving Care Workers. To prioritise work, exercise initiative and use personal authority appropriately.
  • Understanding of and commitment to Equality and Diversity and its implications
  • for employment and service delivery in a social care setting and to be able to
  • practice within the legal and ethical boundaries of the profession.
  • Knowledge of theory, research and reflective practice of child care planning and family support together with a demonstrable knowledge and understanding of child care legislation.
  • Ability to write reports and Service Agreements which are effective and easily understood.
  • Knowledge of child protection issues especially in relation to working in a multi-cultural community.
  • An understanding of the principles of working directly with children and their families and to be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes.
  • Ability to plan, manage and prioritise a workload which can be demanding and pressurised.
  • Robust experience of using a variety of IT systems and software packages to maintain accurate work records.

  • HCPC registered
  • Eligible to work in the UK
