Job description

Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to work within a Children in Care Team for a Local Authority based in West London.

Job Purpose

To fulfil the duties and responsibilities of a qualified Social Work post in one of the Boroughs Children in Care Teams. The Children in Care Team is responsible for achieving permanency for looked after children and your role as a Permanency Social Worker is to establish permanency for children post-proceedings where a full care order has been granted. This can be a very rewarding job as you will be working with some of the Boroughs most vulnerable children in order to make a positive and meaningful difference to their lives.

Within this role you will work to maintain high standards of professional practice, working at all times in the best interests of children and young people, ensuring that there are clear evidence based assessments and care plans in place on all allocated cases.

This post is considered by the authority to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the employee specification.
