Qualified Social Worker - Bedford Borough Council - Adult Safeguarding Team - Up to £35ph!

  • An opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join, a friendly, supportive Social Care Adult Safeguarding Team.
  • Bedford Borough Council views safeguarding as a key priority and seeks a qualified social worker to join a committed team of Advanced practitioners and Support workers, to act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns for adults with Care and Support needs. Within this role you will be part of a team responsible for triaging and managing all new safeguarding concerns referred into Adult Social Care.
  • The successful candidate will be skilled and motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, you will need good analytical skills with evidence of the ability to make clear evidence recommendations to promote effective decision making, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • You will support the Advanced Practitioners in triaging, screening and prioritising adult safeguarding alerts, gathering additional information to make a decision on the best way to progress with the concerns, and to decide if the threshold for a S42 Enquiry has been met.
  • Give guidance and direction to support workers and administrators to ensure best outcomes for individuals, and supporting the implementing of the safeguarding protocol effectively within Bedford
  • Due to the nature of this role it is highly beneficial that you possess previous experience of working with an adults oriented social work team and have previously conducted safeguarding assessments of some degree. It would also be beneficial that you hold good knowledge of the Care Act and other legislation, policies and procedures surrounding Mental Capacity and Adults Social.
