Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to work within an Adoption Team for a Local Authority based in South East England.

Job Purpose

• To be able to carry out her/his duties with due regard to the Council's Customer Care, Equal Opportunities and Best Value Policies and incorporating the Council's Core Competencies.

• To undertake visits in line with policy and legislation.

• To complete detailed referrals, initial visits and adoption assessments that reflect an understanding of the complexities of adoption.

• To liaise, problem solve and negotiate with social workers, prospective and approved adopters, voluntary adoption agencies and members of the public to ensure the best interests of the child are met.

• To provide adoption information, undertake adoption assessments and make recommendations regarding the suitability of prospective adoptive applicants who have applied to be adopters, within statutory timescales.

• To provide a family finding service to approved adopters

You will need to be:

HCPC registered
