Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to work within a Adoption Team for a Local Authority based in South West London.

Job Purpose

• To undertake family finding for specific children in accordance with policy.

• To recruit, train and assess prospective adopters in accordance with regulations and standards. To support them pre and post placement.

• To write and present reports to the Adoption and Permanency panel, court and other forums.

• To work collaboratively with colleagues within the local authority and from other statutory and independent agencies

• To assess, provide and review adoption support.

• To provide support to birth parents pre and post placement.

• To help to set up children and adult support groups and training sessions in response to need.

About you

• Demonstrate experience of assessing and providing adoption support
• Working knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and Adoption and Children Act 2002 and other relevant legislation
• Working knowledge of the National Minimum Standards for Adoption and Adoption support regulations 2005
• Working knowledge of child development and the effects of abuse, neglect, separation and loss
• Completion/familiarity with BAAF Form CPR - placement of children with permanent carers
