Qualified Social Worker - Oldham Council - Adoption Now, Adoption Serivice - Up to £35ph!

An opportunity has arisen for you to join Adoption NoW, a busy, committed and experienced adoption service. We are keen to have an energetic and motivated social worker to join us within our Regional Adoption Agency. Adoption NoW Regional Adoption Agency is a partnership with Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside, Bury and Blackburn Councils.

The role will be based in the Oldham Spoke but you will be part of Adoption NoW which is based in Bolton. You will be an employee of Oldham Council and you will be seconded to Bolton MBC. The post is temporary to cover a maternity leave until March 2022.

The post will entail case responsibility for children with a care plan of adoption and to find suitable families to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Track children within care proceedings
• Contribute to care planning for children and preparing child permanence reports
• Case responsibility for looked after children for whom there is a care plan of adoption
• Family finding and placement of children and support to the families up to the making of an adoption order

Key Requirements

• To be a qualified as a social worker and registered with the Social Work England
• Experienced in assessments and have good written skills
• Experience and knowledge of permanence planning and family placement.
• Knowledge and skills to undertake the safeguarding and statutory responsibilities in relation to looked after children
• Ability to prepare children to move to their adoptive families and provide support through to adoption.
