Principal Planning Officer

£30 -£35 per hour

Experienced Planning Officer required for an important function supporting the Councils Housing New Build Team to help to maximise the delivery of affordable housing on Council own land.

You will have knowledge of Development Management planning and a full understanding of the processes in delivering the statutory planning service in a local planning authority. We are looking for dynamic, positive and hardworking individuals, with extensive relevant experience of dealing with major applications preferably in inner London authorities. You should also be fully up to date with fast-changing London and national planning policy, development management practices, guidance and legislation. You must be able to work creatively and constructively with the management team, applicants, the local community and other stakeholders to ensure that the council's planning priorities are delivered.

The key functions of the roles are managing caseloads associated with a Major Planning Applications, including making recommendations, and representing the Council at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries. The roles include policy development and interpretation, negotiating high quality outcomes and supporting the decision-making processes of the Planning Authority.
