Job description

Remedy Education are recruiting for the role of an SEN Teacher for a school in Lambeth.

The specialist school, support in a welcoming environment, for students aged 4-16 who face challenges associated with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school is looking for a teacher with an arts background, an artistic individual to work closely with the pupils in their creative lessons.

Due to staff shortages the school are looking for a qualified Teacher to support with daily cover. You would be expected to cover throughout the school and sometimes being flexible in last minute to cover lessons.

The position is temporary but could last the full academic year dependant on the schools needs.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Executing tailored lesson plans
  • Tailoring the curriculum to specific special educational needs
  • Engaging pupils to ensure they are on track with their development
  • Reporting back on performance to promote best practice

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Teacher qualified
  • Flexible and confident to cover lessons for all age groups
  • Previous SEN experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for the wellbeing of children with SEN

To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant, an enhanced DBS Certificate may need to be carried out as well as satisfactory references being taken.
