A lovely primary school based in Southwark area are seeking to appoint a Primary School SENCo from April 2019. This is a 2 form entry primary with fantastic state of the art facilities and an SEN Resource unit attached. The SLT and Governors are seeking an inspirational SENCo to Lead SEND across the school.

To secure the highest quality provision for their pupils, the new SENCO should have:-

  • Outstanding Teaching Practise (UK curriculum knowledge)
  • A commitment to securing high levels of progress, achievement and self- esteem for all children.

About the School - Primary SENCO

Located in the London borough of Southwark, close to the Over ground stations, the school benefits from Inner London weighting an attractive and affluent area of London. This school has pupils from a range of different ethnic and social backgrounds which makes it a highly diverse environment to teach and learn in. The School has a highly inclusive ethos incorporating SEN students in all mainstream lessons. It has provided excellent training and development for all of its class teachers around good SEN teaching and successful inclusion. The school has also invested heavily in Learning Support Assistants for one to one teaching ensuring these students get the dedicated support they require.

About the Role - Primary SENCO

The SENCO post is of key importance to any school but in this school with a larger than average intake of pupils with SEN it is vital. The school are looking for either someone who is currently a SENCO in a similar role, or those who are an Outstanding teacher with a passion for SEN and looking for a Career progression and development. The school is looking for a SENCO who is able to model and educate their teachers with good SEN teaching practice. Sharing knowledge is key for this post as the school aim to remain one of the best schools for students SEN.
