Job description

This role will involve being;

  • The Practice Improvement Mentor role aims to establish a foundation of good practice through continuous improvement where quality standards are met and maintained, and practice improvements are addressed. This will be achieved through a combination of audit activity and real time mentoring/coaching between the Improvement Mentor, practitioners, and their managers
  • The Practice Improvement Mentor will have no case management responsibility.
  • The post holder will work with a specific part of the service as Improvement Partner (Access & Assessment; Family Intervention; Children looked after and Care Leavers; Children with Disability and Fostering). The post holder will provide support and challenge to Social Workers, Assistant Team Managers, Consultant Practitioners and Team Managers on areas the Teams identify as practice improvement needs.
  • The post holder will undertake monthly audit moderation activity (across the whole service). The post holder will also undertake audit activity, either through themed or team specific audits in accordance with identified practice learning or development needs.
  • The post holder will link with the Quality Assurance Team and be directly line managed by the Principal Social Worker in order to support practice improvement as identified through whole service audits & performance data. The Principal Social Worker will provide direction as to the areas that require focused mentoring. These areas will also be supported through formal and informal training sessions.
