Job description

Are you a Recent Graduate in Education studies or Psychology, who is eager to gain first-hand experience working with children who have profound, multiple and moderate learning difficulties (PMLD)?

Then the perfect chance is now available for an outstanding PMLD Teaching Assistant who holds relevant experience co-operating with PMLD learners. This SEN school needs someone who shows a sheer willingness to invest their time into other people; someone who has a genuine desire to launch a future career in education - perhaps as a Teacher, a Clinical or Educational Psychologist.

About the Role

As a PMLD - Teaching Assistant, your role will involve you working in the department that most closely correlates with your skills, experiences, and formal qualifications. As PMLD - Teaching Assistant you will have the responsibility of communicating with teachers and the child's parents to unite the student's support systems and encourage a stable learning environment. You may also be required to take part in intervention and small group sessions with PMLD learners, whilst if needed - assist other pupils who may have emotional behaviour difficulties (EBD)

What we ask

To be considered for the role of PMLD - Teaching Assistant, you must be a self-assured graduate who has at least second-class degree and have an understanding of the children who require multiple needs. You will need to have an all-inclusive outlook which appreciates the pastoral progress of the individual as well as their learning needs. The perfect PMLD - Teaching Assistant will come with an understanding approach to helping students reach their potential. Any applicants who hold experience with Makaton and PECS will be highly considered.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Remedy Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
