Personal Advisor, Leaving Care Team, Northwest London, up to £20ph

If you are an experienced Personal Advisor with a background in a Leaving Care Team, we want to hear from you.

Can you provide support, advice and assistance to enable young people to maximise education, training, work and accommodation opportunities for young people between ages 18 and 25?

Main duties include:

  • Planning and deliver group work sessions for young people with specific needs
  • Taking part in a daily duty service to provide an emergency response to any care leaver or older looked after child whose own caseworker is away from the office
  • Carrying out specific tasks and duties in relation to complex cases of young people aged 16 and 17 where the case responsibility is held by an allocated social worker
  • Assisting a young person with their transition into permanent housing including those with extreme anti-social behaviour, mental health issues and additional vulnerability
  • Manage a caseload of young people, regularly review their progress and assess the level of support required through regular review of pathway plans
  • Develop a thorough understanding of available local provision and make appropriate referrals
  • Respond appropriately to young people in times of crisis
  • Maintain awareness of current legislative requirements as relating to care leavers and to participate in relevant training

Essential requirements:

  • Qualification in Certificate in Youth Work Practice, childcare e.g. NNEB, NVQ Level 3, Access to Social Care NVQ Level
  • ASYE complete
  • Substantial experience in a Leaving Care Team
  • Car driver/owner desirable
