Permanent Qualified Social Workers for Adults Services, Southend, up to £36,153 pa

If you looking to move away from the city and want to work in a seaside town, this could be the perfect role for you.

You will support adults and older clients across Southend on Sea undertaking assessments and supporting individual's strengths and wishes to maximise their potential for independence.

Main duties include:

  • Work alongside health colleagues to prevent adults from being admitted to long term residential care and supporting interdependence with the community
  • Be part of a team that embraces the process of change, participating in effective team working.
  • Undertake timely reviews whilst applying a strengths/asset-based approach to practice, both in terms of individual assessments, care plans and reviews and the culture within the team.
  • Ensure adults are assessed in a timely and appropriate manner to prevent them from being admitted to long term residential care and supporting interdependence with the community and to return home as soon as possible.

Essential requirements:

  • A social work qualification (degree in social work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognised social work qualification
  • HCPC registration as a Qualified Social Worker
  • Good working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Knowledge of the SET Procedures for Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and assessment and investigation skills
  • Proven ability in ensuring that adults and older people are appropriately safeguarded.
  • Car driver/owner as you will need to travel around the county
