Outreach SEND Support Worker

Do you have a real desire to support individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

If you have an empathetic nature, nurturing personality and a desire to work with children and young people with SEND, including high functioning Autistic Spectrum Conditions, then we are looking for you.

A lovely little SEN school are seeking a dynamic and skilled support worker to assist our off site Post 16 learners. This is a key role in ensuring the safeguarding, welfare and social education of post 16 students.

The Outreach SEND Support Worker is responsible for providing direct support to young people both on and off site. Key aspects of the role are ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students, facilitating social education, supporting academic programmes of learning and promoting the development of personal independence in order to best prepare students for adulthood.

This will be a full time, long term position starting in September 2018 with the potential to go permanent.

A full clean driving licence is essential in order to fulfil the role. Previous experience of working with individuals who have Autism would be beneficial to your application, along with a positive, calm, and adaptable personality.

Your days will vary depending on who you are supporting, but will always require:

Supporting students in getting their voice heard

Job Requirements

Strong communication skills, a positive and caring attitude, and a willingness to work as part of a small, committed team

Previous experience as a support worker / care worker / carer in a similar setting

QCF Level 2 or 3 in health and social care or equivalent.

Your starting salary - £100 - £150 per day

Remedy Education are dedicated to safeguarding and require all our staff to hold and Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Portable DBS is preferable.
