Job description

Our client, Liverpool Council is looking for a Local Authority Designated Officer & Risk Manager to join their team.

  • To ensure that organisations respond to allegations of abuse against those working with children in accordance with Working Together and relevant procedures.
  • To resolve any inter-agency issues that may arise in managing the process of investigating allegations against those working with children.
  • To monitor and evaluate all allegations of abuse made against a person who works with children and ensure that all recommendation are adhered to.
  • To identify and manage risk in line with guidance and procedures.
  • To effectively liaise with DFES ,OFSTED and all regulatory organisations.
  • To offer advice to individuals or organisations regarding allegations against people who work with children.
  • To liaise with Police, employers and other relevant agencies.
  • To promote the protection of children and young people from harm and abuse.
  • To offer advice/guidance to agencies and partners.
  • To represent Children Services at MAPPA meetings
  • To ensure that learning from Serious Case Reviews and research is embedded across relevant agencies.
  • To liaise with all relevant members of organisations when an allegation of abuse is made against a person who works with children.
  • To ensure that recommendations for action following an allegation of abuse made against a person who works with children are followed in a timely and effective manner.
  • To manage, present and share information, records and reports to support decision making.
  • To chair and facilitate strategy and joint evaluation meetings.
  • To implement and monitor compliance with quality assurance systems.
  • To ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory frameworks and procedures.
  • To contribute to multi agency training and development.
  • To be responsible for communicating and making referrals to the Disclosure and Barring Service when required.
  • To manage casework and review in line with statutory guidance

Essential requirements:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
* Registration with Social Work England
* ASYE completed
