Leasehold Officer

Remedy Recruitment are working with a Local Authority within London and they are seeking a Leasehold Officer. This is a fast pace exciting role.

Salary- Negotiable

Full Time

Start- ASAP.

Job Purpose

To provide a high quality service to the Group's leaseholders, ensuring that they are managed in accordance with the terms of their leases, legislation and regulation and best practice.

To ensure that the Group's best interests are protected in its dealings with leaseholders and management of the properties and estates subject to leasehold interests.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the provision of annual service charge estimates and statements ensuring the production of bills and statements are processed correctly and that Leaseholders receive reasonable bills and accurate statements for service charges.
  • To be responsible for the update and maintenance of the service charge database and to ensure that all information, financial and otherwise, provided for the calculation of service charges is accurate and has full supporting documentation.
  • Ensure that systems and procedures are in place in order to investigate any query relating to service charge calculations and to ensure that procedures are adhered to.
  • To initiate and be responsible for the amendment of any service charge account, as required, for the production of annual service charge bills to Leaseholders.
  • Prepare estimated service charge information for the production of RTB Offer notices, in accordance with legislation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of leasehold management and preparing service charge accounts as applicable to Registered Social Landlord.
  • Extensive knowledge, and experience, of using and supporting computer systems, including software such as databases, spreadsheets, and word processing packages
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • High level of numeracy
  • Knowledge of office systems and procedures including the maintenance of computerised and manual filing systems
  • A knowledge of accountancy principles and internal controls relating to income accounts
  • Experience of managing income accounts and debt recovery
  • Experience of working in a financial environment
  • Experience of dealing with the public and possessing a strong customer focus
