This is a Lead Commissioner role to;

• Commission a comprehensive range of high quality, responsive and efficient adult social care services for the LA population
• Develop and implement the elements of commissioning, contracting and performance management frameworks
• Play a major role in assisting the development and implementation of an appropriate framework to support delivery of the commissioning agenda ensuring that the 8 steps in the commissioning framework are achieved

These are:

• Putting people at the centre of commissioning
• Understanding the needs of populations and individuals
• Sharing and using information more effectively
• Assuring high quality providers for all services
• Recognising the inter-dependence between work and health
• Developing incentives for commissioning for health and well being
• Developing local accountability
• Developing capability and leadership
