Job description

Our client, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, is looking for a JAD officer to join their team.

The JAD Service is made up of qualified social workers, nurses, occupational therapists and administrators. The Service brings together teams from Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Trust, North East London Foundation Trust, London Borough of Barking & Dagenham and London Borough of Havering. The Service is responsible for the safe and timely discharges of adults with health or social needs in Hospital. The JAD Service operates a seven-day working pattern.

Case Load:
Social work assessments
Mental Capacity Assessment
Safeguarding enquiries
Continuing Healthcare assessment

Essential requirements for the role:
1. Previous Hospital Social Work experience.
2. Experience of completing Care Act compliant social work assessments.
3. Be able to support continuing healthcare assessment and advocate for vulnerable adults. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, partner services, service user and carers.
4. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, partner services, service user and carers.
5. Be able to apply professional assertiveness to justify decisions and uphold professional social care practice, values and ethics.

Essential experience required:
Previous experience working in a social work hospital environment. Previous experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment. Previous experience of working in a fast paced pressured environment.

You will need to be:

Social work england registered
Eligible to work in the UK
Atleast 1 year post qualifying experience
