Our client is looking for a LADO to undertake the following duties;

• The Area Designated Officer will be responsible for receiving consultations about and notifications of allegations against the children's workforce and for managing the response to those allegations in accordance with appropriate safeguarding thresholds and in line with national and local Council guidance.
• They will report to the County LADO Manager and as a key post holder will contribute to the strategic development of the service and take the lead on reviewing aspects of Child Protection policy and procedures where appropriate. The National Minimum Standards for care settings (eg children's homes and fostering agencies) also cite the LADO as a point of reference for approval of safeguarding policies.
• To contribute to the monitoring of care standards in Kent's residential provision as part of the quality assurance framework provided by the Unit.
• The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues within and external to the FSC Directorate in line with the principles of Working Together to Safeguard Children (2013) to inform, provide guidance and where appropriate challenge, to managers and employers across the disciplines of the children's workforce.
