SEN Learning Support Assistant - Greenwich, South East London- Outstanding school

A popular, multicultural 'outstanding' primary school in Greenwich, South East London is looking for a patient and resilient Learning Support Assistant to work with in the SEN department of a mainstream school. All 21 students have ASD and across 3 classes.

Person Specification
You will need to be an accomplished graduate with the confidence and resilience to work as an SEN Learning Support Assistant with Autistic students. This role would suit a graduate with a degree in Psychology, or alternatively experience in working with children with special educational needs. This is an incredibly rewarding role but can sometimes be incredibly challenging, so the successful candidate will need to resilient and able to demonstrate experience of staying calm under pressure. You will be an animated character and great communications skills are a must. You will need to be able to commit to work up to July 2019. This position can be on going from September 2019, if you are the right fit to the school.

About the Role
You will be working on a general basis with students with Autism, who generally have mild behavioural issues, and are generally calm and friendly individuals. As a learning support assistant, you will be there to keep students on track and ensure all are gaining the very best of their education, who have the tendency to lose interest in the in the class content, so it will be down to you to get creative and frame information in an engaging way.
