* Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant

* Role available immediately

* £70 - £85 daily rate

We are currently looking for a committed, reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in a Key Stage 1 setting, in a prosperous mainstream school based in Greenwich. The candidate should create a stimulating learning environment, by preparing various activities and differentiating instruction to motivate and facilitate learning. You will be asked to support various groups of pupils with different levels of ability on a group and one-to-one basis. Ideally, the school would like to meet a professional who truly enjoys working with children and may aspire to become a qualified teacher in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering the curriculum with an emphasis on an active/fun approach to learning
  • Provide literacy and numeracy supported by the Primary National Curriculum
  • Assist the class teacher in hearing the children read on a regular basis
  • Observe/assess the children's progress and provide constructive feedback to the teacher
  • Prepare class resources as required by the class teacher
  • Establish and develop good relations with parents
  • Relate well to children and have a kind, caring and, if necessary, firm approach
