This is a shared service between Kingston and Sutton Councils providing HR and Organisational Development services to both Councils as well as a number of arm's length companies and traded services to schools. These companies are all different - in size, their customer groups and their aims. HR & OD needs to ensure that it is able to deliver against all their organisational priorities through the use of a flexible service delivery model.

Role purpose

The Council is focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for its communities. To do this the Council needs employees who thrive in an agile and networked organisation and who can support continuous improvement within a constructive organisational culture.

As Interim LMS Implementation Manager, you will lead and drive the implementation of learning technology to meet the businesses learning strategy. You will be responsible for project management, stakeholder engagement and coordination to ensure a successful implementation and migration of our current learning management system, including creating business cases, oversee supplier onboarding and create and manage a project plan.

The role reports directly to the Senior Employee Experience Partner

Key responsibilities

Management of project governance, including the preparation for, facilitation of and follow up to project board and project group meetings and regular updates to project sponsor as required.

  • Manage the complete implementation of a new LMS including integration with other systems and/or processes
  • Manage relationship with vendor
  • Ensure that the LMS requirements are met for all Sutton and Kingston boroughs and liaise with Merton on their requirements.
  • Engage and manage internal and external stakeholders to agree business requirements and drive engagement with the project
  • Ensure compliance with internal project management processes and associated reporting In conjunction with vendor
  • Plan and run design and configuration workshops involving project team and other key stakeholders
  • In collaboration with the PMO Project Manager, coordinate and lead the project team to review project progress, and agree issues requiring escalation to the Programme Board.
  • Articulate the reporting requirements to ensure robust data is available for annual and monthly reporting.
  • Identify issues and change requests during the implementation phase for 3 councils.
  • Develop communication / engagement strategy to support launch of new LMS for each RBK and LBS.
  • Deliver required training to support introduction of new solution and/or processes
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop online learning strategy appropriate for the business
