Job description

Computing Lead Teacher -

Full Time

Incentives available for the right candidate

I am looking for a highly motivated, passionate and creative Computing Lead Teacher who is committed to raising the achievements of all pupils. My client is a school for children aged 11-19 with hearing, speech, language and communication difficulties. Their teachers are at the forefront of innovative educational approaches to develop language and learning in these unique and wonderful children.

My client is a secondary school for the Profoundly Deaf and pupils with language and literacy delay. Their pupils communicate using BSL, SSE and spoken voice. Many of their students have SEB difficulties and some students have more complex needs. The majority of the students are working below the old NC level 3 in both Reading and Writing.

I am looking for a Primary trained teacher and/or Secondary subject specialist with an interest or experience of TEFL, EAL or Dyslexia. An interest in language delay, visual teaching methods and any experience of BSL, SSE or Makaton would be preferential.

The school offers excellent ICT facilities and access to iPads, so an interest in technology to help with literacy development would also be beneficial.

If you are looking to become part of a vibrant and engaging learning community, which promotes the highest standards of achievement and character, please apply now.

What you can expect from this school:

  • Support from a senior leadership team that will share your passion to be creative, forward thinking and play an active part in ensuring all our students succeed
  • Competitive salary
  • Small class sizes
  • Fascinating children
  • Personalised professional development package including a funded MA in Deaf Education
  • A warm, enthusiastic and innovative team
