Huddersfield, Independent Reviewing Officer, Children Looked After

We are looking for an Independent Reviewing Officer to cover a caseload of approximately 55 Children Looked After.

You will provide duty support, for the Children Looked After IRO Service.

Ideally you will be available to start as soon as possible.

This position is initially for 3 months and can be undertaken primarily virtually. During Covid restrictions, they were able to fulfil all aspects of the IRO role via a combination of video calling and meetings held via MS Teams, SKYPE and WhatsApp.

They are now returning to a mixed mode of delivery of the IRO role; therefore, you would need to be available for some CLA Reviews/ IRO visits in person where this is the request of the child/young person.

Laptop and all IT security arrangements, and inductions into the role will be provided. There will be regular case supervision.

You will be fully included in all Team Meetings, Peer Group Discussions and Keep in Touch calls.

You will use Liquid Logic system for Case Recording and will need to undertake training modules specific to IRO role as part of your induction.

Essential requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with Social Work England with ASYE complete
  • Experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer
