The Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 implemented on 3rd April 2018 places additional statutory duties on local authorities to prevent and relieve homelessness for those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
As the Housing Solutions Team Manager you will manage part of a customer centred front line Housing Solutions Team delivering high quality housing advice and assistance to customers who are experiencing housing problems and are threatened with or are currently homeless. In particular you will be responsible for managing and delivering a service to single homeless customers (or those threatened with homelessness) and to customers approaching as a result of being asked to leave by friends or family or evicted by landlords. You will also act as operational lead working with our partners to reduce rough sleeping.
You will have proven experience of working in a front line customer focused environment and have an understanding and awareness of housing issues, detailed knowledge of relevant homelessness legislation and adopt an innovative approach to problem solving.
You will need to have the ability to work with a variety of people, establish good relationships with customers, colleagues and staff from partner organisations. You will be able to plan your own work and have a creative and 'can-do' attitude to problem-solving.
