Remedy Recruitment Group are looking for a Housing Solutions Advisor for a Local Authority in East London.

Job Purpose

The post holder will work with customers and internal and external partners to prevent homelessness for those threatened with homelessness or to relief homelessness for those who have become homeless. You will develop and explore a range of housing options and solutions available to clients as you deal with a varied caseload offering expertise advice and assistance with a view to preventing homelessness.
You will be part of a proactive, knowledgeable and experienced team of housing professionals offering advice and assistance to residents in private rented accommodation. Your work will be essential to ensuring the council meets its new duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
Key responsibilities of the role include assisting households to identify ways to resolve incidences of homelessness through effective casework and to identify alternative means of accommodation where homelessness cannot be prevented
Good influencing, mediation, customer care and effective communication and investigative skills both face to face and on the telephone to ensure positive outcome for customer are essential for this role. Also the ability to work under pressure to meet successful outcomes, to manage a busy workload working both solely and as a member of the team and the ability to conduct housing needs assessments and gain required information from applicants to do so are essential skills for the role.
