Job description

Remedy Education are seeking to appointment an enthusiastic, professional Head of History for September 2018.

Applicants are expected to teach History in KS3 and KS4 and suitably qualified candidates will have the opportunity to teach A Level.

This position is based in North West London

A degree is essential. In return the successful candidate can expect to continue their CPD and have regular management support

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire, motivate and influence staff and students, taking a leading role in developing and maintaining the highest standards of teaching and learning in History at the Academy;
  • Working with the Headteacher, shape and implement a vision and direction for the Academy, setting out very high expectations and with a clear focus on teaching and learning leading to student achievement;
  • Working with the Headteacher, lead and implement all aspects of policy and practice in homework provision across the Academy;
  • Contribute to developing and implementing the aims and objectives for the Academy;
  • Contribute to developing, implementing and monitoring policy and practice as laid down in the Academy's Strategic Development Plan;
  • Provide a good role model for all members of staff and for students in all aspects of Academy life;
  • Be an exemplar of all academy policies and practices and in particular model outstanding teaching in History;
  • Demonstrate and practice leadership; be a good role model to all staff as an Academy staff member, education professional, classroom practitioner, and middle leader;
  • Actively promote the aims of the Academy;
  • Offer guidance and support to colleagues
