Highways Project Manager

£450 - £550pd

A Senior Project Manager is required to support delivery of Highways, Transport & Environment Transformation Programme.

They will help secure savings with our current contracts and also build on existing work to recover costs, increase income and push forward the commercialisation of our services. Specifically they will be expected to:

Shape the streams of work and get shared clarity on their scope, including the size of the opportunities identified and understand the trade-off factors in decisions the council would have to make

Kick start the work-streams so that there is strategic oversight, direction and consistency

Experience of working with major contracts/suppliers (they do not need specific 're-procurement' expertise - which this is not - but on getting the best out of the relationship and arrangement)

Ideally highways / transport / environment background, but not essential if they have relevant similar experience

Ability to shape something and bring some clarity, get key stakeholders on the same page

Set up and bring structure to the work

Drive and motivation to deliver

Commercial awareness

Ability to leverage arrangements with partners
