Job description

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

ASAP start

Salary: £90 -£105 per day (dependent on qualifications and experience)

  • Primary HLTA
  • South West London Location - Wandsworth
  • Long term Position
  • Full/Part Time Role

* Do you want to make a real difference to children from different backgrounds and working at mixed ability levels?

* Work at a fantastic mainstream Primary School?

* Have a passion to develop individuals with a more flexible curriculum involving significant work within KS1/2

A great mainstream Primary School in South West London, Wandsworth require a creative HLTA who is passionate about providing the best possible education and care for their pupils. You would have the opportunity to deliver Personal Learning and interventions. This is an exciting opportunity to get back to teaching children and play a significant part of their overall development. This could be a great opportunity to take full pastoral responsibility for a small group(s) as a stepping-stone into teaching.

The successful HLTA candidate will take on duties associated with a teaching assistant. In addition to those duties, you will also take on whole class teaching to cover sickness and absence. In most cases the teaching work will be planned for and timetabled. You will also be supported by a qualified teacher. This is perfect for a teaching assistant who wants to progress, or a graduate who is looking to go into teaching.

This HLTA position would suit a candidate with a proven track record of working with phonics, KS1 experience is desirable, however not essential. This role would suit an individual who is passionate about making a real difference to students' life chances and supporting them in achieving their potential in essential life skills, which is a high priority for the school. The ability to be creative and use imaginative flair to engage is essential, along with having resilience, drive and high expectations to inspire students to achieve. As a growing Primary School with a teacher training school in the trust, it may also provide an opportunity of further opportunities in the future.

If you would like to discuss or find out more about this HLTA post, please send an updated CV to Carly Walters ASAP.
