Job description

Our client, Herefordshire Council is looking for 4 Managing Practitioners worker to join their Assessment Team

The Assessment Teams are responsible in undertaking Children and Family Assessment, s47 investigations and associated front door responsibilities. The priority for the team is to achieve support for Children and Families at the Right Help at the Right Time. The team have already made great improvements and now is an exciting time for the team as we implement Signs of Safety as our new practice model. This role will lead a well -balanced team of 6 social workers and 3 family support workers. The management workforce are mainly working from home but may return to working in the office on a hybrid basis to be agreed in coming weeks, but there are opportunities to work from the office if that is the choice of the individual. There are opportunities for flexible working arrangements to enable being mainly home based with all necessary IT equipment provided. The role is to support the team manager in overseeing the Social Workers within the teams with deputising for the Team Manager, assessment approvals, supervision, allocations, chairing meetings and any identified management tasks as they arise.

Essential requirements:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
* Registration with Social Work England
* ASYE completed
