Head of Resident Services, Housing, East London, up to £32.63ph

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Management professional based in East London.

You will have extensive housing management experience along with an understanding of housing legislation. It is essential you have extensive knowledge in at least one of the following: Housing Management, Leasehold Management or Leasehold Management including Consultation.

Main purpose of the role:

  • To be the service lead for Resident Engagement, taking responsibility for providing regular progress reports and resident satisfaction performance statistics to senior officers.
  • Ensure the provision of effective resident engagement with residents of all tenures, ensuring that a Resident Engagement Strategy is created and delivered, resulting in higher levels of resident support, understanding and satisfaction.
  • To be the lead for the business on the delivery of any recommendations that are made further to the Hackitt Review, Housing Green Paper and Grenfell Inquiry relating to Housing Services.
  • Ensure the provision of an effective property management service to residents of all tenures, utilising digital solutions, minimising breaches of tenancy and lease conditions and taking appropriate remedial action.
  • Deliver a customer-focused service, ensuring appropriate levels of support are provided to vulnerable residents.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and effectively communicate Resident Services plans and visions.
  • To lead and manage a workforce within Resident Services created to facilitate multi-tenure property management with increased resident engagement.
  • To manage risk, ensure that compliance, enhanced communication, and fire safety information is provided to all residents, and to ensure that staff work to towards delivering this successfully.

Essential requirements:

  • A working knowledge of the housing environment in the public, private rented or voluntary sector.
  • An understanding of housing legislation related to the following areas, with extensive knowledge in at least one: housing management, leasehold management including consultation.
  • Extensive management experience in a housing related field.
  • Experience of community consultation and engagement.
  • Ability to prepare reports, briefings and presentations for the Mayor, Members and senior managers.
