This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to be mentored by an absolutely inspirational SENCO - this will help catapult your SEN career to the next level and can help you gain valuable experience working within a school before you embark on your PGCE or consider teaching. You will be running group interventions and working 1:1 with SEN students.

About the Role of SEN Teaching Assistant:
You will be acting as a mentor for your pupils, taking some out of lessons for 1:1 tuition and teaching others in group sessions. In this Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant post you will be supporting teaching across the whole school and you will be progressing your teaching abilities through the advice of an extremely experienced and committed SENCO who will nurture you and pass her knowledge on.

Person Specification for SEN Teaching Assistant:
The SENCO wants to recruit a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant with an articulate, coherent approach and a belief in a fair education for all. We want to recruit a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant who has the skills to display an interest in whole school activities by helping to run an extracurricular activity of their choice.

This Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant position would suit a creative graduate who has previous experience working with children who have special educational needs and achieved a 2:1 or above in your degree. The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant candidate will have an encouraging manner and the skills to efficiently handle in-class disruptions.
